Langlees Early Learning and Childcare Centre (ELC Centre) sits to the west of Falkirk town centre.  Langlees ELC Centre lies in the heart of the Langlees Community and opened in August 2018 as a new local authority nursery delivering 1140 hours of Early Learning and Childcare.  Our service is registered to provide Early Learning and Childcare to children from 3 years old to not yet attending Primary School.  We provide nursery sessions to a maximum of 65 children at any one time.  We open from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Friday.  Our children attend for five hour sessions, daily, over a 45.6-week period which is funded through government funding. Since August 2021 we have also been providing Early Learning and Childcare for up to fifteen 2-3-year-old children at any one time.  91.7% of children who live in Langlees reside within SIMD 1-3.

The nursery has a very good reputation in the local community and the new Early Learning and Childcare Centre reflects the changing and growing needs of the local community and the expansion of 1140 hours funded Early Learning and Childcare.

Our service is located on the same grounds as Langlees Primary School and we work closely with the Primary School to support transition and collaboration across each setting.  Langlees ELC Centre is made up of three large open plan play spaces, cloakroom space, family engagement room, servery kitchen and two large secure outdoor learning areas.  All areas within the setting are accessible to the children promoting free flow exploration and children’s choice. Staff and children also have access to the school grounds, including a large playing field and woodland area. Children’s play and learning is supported in all areas using open ended resources and loose parts play.
